Organise this chapter into four linked frameworks. First, learn blood composition: plasma proteins, formed elements, differential leucocyte percentages, ABO and Rh groups, and the coagulation cascade. Second, connect tissue fluid with lymph, its immune role, its return to major veins and fat absorption through lacteals. Third, trace circulation through heart chambers, valves, vessels, the pulmonary and systemic circuits, and the hepatic portal and coronary systems. Finally, connect nodal conduction with the cardiac cycle, heart sounds, cardiac output, ECG waves, autonomic regulation and the major circulatory disorders.
NEET problem-solving approach
For calculation items, write the biological relation before substituting: stroke volume equals end-diastolic volume minus end-systolic volume, cardiac output equals stroke volume multiplied by heart rate, and a leucocyte subtype count equals total WBC count multiplied by its percentage range. For sequence and matching items, follow the physical route of blood or an action potential instead of recalling isolated names.
Traps to check before answering
Keep antigens on RBCs separate from antibodies in plasma, and interpret universal donor or recipient statements within the ABO grouping described in NCERT while remembering that Rh compatibility must also be checked. Distinguish fibrinogen, thrombin, fibrin and thrombokinase by their places in the clotting cascade. In the heart, separate atrio-ventricular valves from semilunar valves, electrical events on the ECG from the mechanical events they initiate, and heart failure from cardiac arrest and heart attack.
