Class 12 · Biology · Chapter 1
Sexual Reproduction in Flowering Plants
Welcome to the most heavily-tested chapter of Class 12 Biology — typically 4-6 NEET questions every year. We follow the complete journey: how a flower builds male gametophytes (pollen) inside its anther through microsporogenesis, builds a female gametophyte (the famous 7-celled, 8-nucleate embryo sac) inside its ovule through megasporogenesis, transfers pollen via wind/water/animals (pollination), filters the right pollen using outbreeding devices and pollen-pistil interaction, performs the angiosperm-unique double fertilisation (syngamy + triple fusion), and finally develops the ovule into a seed and the ovary into a fruit. We close with apomixis and polyembryony — phenomena of huge agricultural importance. By the end you'll have mastered every diagram, every ploidy fact, every NCERT-canonical phrase, and every NEET trap.
