Blood Vessels: The Body's Plumbing

Blood doesn't just splash around; it flows through strict "pipes" called arteries and veins. These pipes have walls made of three layers:

  • Tunica Intima (Inner): The smooth inner lining (Squamous Endothelium) that touches the blood.
  • Tunica Media (Middle): The muscular layer (Smooth muscles + Elastic fibres).

Double Circulation: Two Loops, One Heart
